DLP® Projectors with BrilliantColor® Technology TAXAN PS200 Series and PV100 Series To Be Available from Mid-May

Kaga Components Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 2-2-9, Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yukio Takashi; Web site: http://www.taxan-projector.com/), a consolidated subsidiary of Kaga Electronics Co., Ltd. (TSE 1st Section: 8154), is pleased to announce the coming availability of four new DLP® projectors in two series, all adopting the BrilliantColor™ technology of U.S. firm Texas Instruments (TI). Scheduled to go on sale in mid-May 2008, the TAXAN PS200 Series consists of models KG-PS232Xh and KG-PS232X, while the PV100 Series, available at the same time and featuring excellent cost performance, is made up of models KG-PV131X and KG-PV131S.
The adoption of BrilliantColor™ technology in these new series raises their colour reproduction capability to a whole new level. Whereas conventional DLP® projectors produce colour using a four-segment (RGB+W) colour wheel, these new projectors adopt a six-colour wheel, adding C (Cyan) and Y (Yellow) to the RGB+W colours. The result is a far greater breadth of colour reproduction, particularly in the yellow and light blue regions. Moreover, high outputs of 3000lm and 2500lm are achieved despite their compact size. The PS200 Series also comes with an auto-focus function, which automatically measures the distance to the screen and adjusts the focus accordingly.
The arrival of these products coincides with increasing demand from our customers for further improvements in colour reproduction, and in addition to expanding sales to the educational market we also plan to promote these products to a broad range of industries.
