The mouse pen is a slender pen-shaped PC input device combining the roles of a digital pen and a mouse. Operation is smooth and simple. Used as a digital pen, what you write with it is input directly into a PC. As a mouse, it is used to perform PC operations like a regular mouse, but has the familiar feel and shape of a pen.
Handwritten email, messages, notes and sketches are input as PC data without the need for a tablet or special paper. It comes complete with the application software supporting these functions. Operating with a very small level of battery power, the pen can be used as a PC input device for long periods of time.
Operation is simple. Switch modes or launch an application easily with the slick interface.
The mouse pen can be used either as a pen or as a mouse. When the Pen& Ink Editor is running, pen and mouse modes are switched by pressing on the middle button of the rocker switch on the mouse pen. Pressing this button while the PC screen desktop is active causes a wheel to be displayed, for simple launching of applications that have been registered on the wheel.
The Pen&Ink Editor application is the main software component of the TAXAN PC ScriptWriter.
It is easy to use and enables you to quickly "write" messages, draw pictures, and make notes, as you would with a regular
pen.
The Snap Shot application takes a snapshot of your screen, which you can then mark up and annotate with your TAXAN PC ScriptWriter.
In Microsoft Word and PowerPoint ( Supported Microsoft office 2003 or later ), pen settings are controlled through the TAXAN PC ScriptWriter Toolbar.
Advanced users can customize the device settings in several possible areas: Hardware Receiver / Mouse / Custom Wheel Applications.
In case of PowerPoint the pen should work as a pen in PowerPoint editing mode, when going to full screen mode, most PowerPoint versions enable annotation in mouse mode. In this case it is recommended to move to mouse mode and make annotation on the slide. ( Supported Microsoft office 2003 or later )

The mouse pen is designed based on ergonomics to fit the hand comfortably, for long use without tiring. Moreover, it provides a highly intuitive way to perform computer operations. Clicking on icons, drag and drop, document scrolling and other ordinary mouse operations are as simple as touching the pen tip lightly to paper, desk or other surface and dragging the pen along the surface.
Used as a pointing device in mouse mode, the speed of movement and accurate positioning make for an enjoyable PC operation environment in all kinds of applications.
The pen can be used as an input device to enter handwritten comments, drawings and sketches anywhere on the screen.
Drag, drop and scroll operations are performed as with an ordinary mouse.
Notes, likenesses, scribbled email messages, drawings and sketches can be shared digitally.
Handwritten text can be converted to text data by using standard handwriting recognition of Windows Vista. ( With Windows XP, the conversion software must be downloaded separately. )
* Due to the specifications of Microsoft Windows, Windows XP Home Edition and Windows Vista Home Basic can’t be converted from handwritten text to text data.
